Stories of death …

On a Sunday …

I wandered into town …

To hear stories, stories of death …

That might not sound like a big deal …

But for some of us we have death hovering or hiding …

For me it is shoved into the black room at the back of my mind …

It is there with lots of other things …

Things I do not face …

Things I do not talk about …

Things I try not to think about …

Things that have been there for so many years …

Things that are newly shoved in there …

Recently the door in the room has been opened …

The darkness has pushed its way out a little …

A shadow just appearing about the door …

The door was allowed to be ajar for a little time …

Then the door was pulled open …

Some of the stuff in there has now been rummaged around in …

One of those things …

Death …

Has no longer been hidden …

Held away …

This night the stories although about death were filled with light and the living.
