Radiotherapy …

… has begun. At this point three sessions down and twenty seven to go.

An interesting thing it is, I lie there very still after the lasers, measurements and tattoos have all been lined up and I am in the perfect position.

This is the machine, with it’s zapping power.

It moves around to the exact spot on my left, two short buzzes and one long buzz, then it moves to my right and repeats it’s buzzing. I haven’t really thought about what it is doing, the impact on my cells and eventually my poor skin. It is to be done, a must to make sure … I did some reading but got a bit frightened so stopped before I got a lot frightened!

So this is where you will find me, every day for the next six weeks, just in case you’re looking for me!

I had a meeting with my radiation oncologist last week. I start rads in July some time. It does sound scary, but the advantages outweigh the nasties for me. Hope your skin holds up through it all.

Thanks Kate and good vibes to you for July. I am finding it less scary if I don’t think about it! Am keeping my fingers crossed for my skin, am MooGooing 2-3 times a day. But after 3 zaps it’s already oddly itchy … it’s hard to remember not to scratch!
